In Palm Trees

Palm trees are among the most important crops, and zeolite works to improve their productivity.

Benefits of adding Zeolite to Productive Palm Trees:

  • Increased soil moisture retention available to palm trees and reduced evaporation.
  • Improved physical and chemical properties of the soil in the palm tree’s root zone.
  • Increased availability of added fertilizers to palm trees regularly.

Application Methods and Rates for Productive Palm Trees:

  • 7 years old or more: Add 100 kg per palm tree, reapply after 10 years.
  • Less than 7 years old (already planted): Add 50 kg per palm tree, reapply upon reaching productive age according to previous recommendations.
  • At planting: Add 30 kg in the planting pit mixed with soil, then plant, and reapply according to previous recommendations upon reaching productive age.

Zeolite Application Methods:

  • Auger: Digging holes around the palm tree and mixing 10-12 kg in each hole.
  • Digging a deep trench around the palm tree (at least 70 cm deep) and mixing it with soil.
  • At planting: Mixing in the planting pit.

Benefits of using Zeolite in Date Storage Rooms: Zeolite absorbs excess moisture and harmful gases from the storage atmosphere, which helps extend storage duration and maintain date quality during transport.

Results on Productive Palm Trees:

  • Improved overall health of the palm tree and increased its immunity against pests and diseases, especially soil-borne diseases like root rot.
  • Increased production quantity by increasing the size of produced dates.
  • Increased fruit size and improved production quality (reduced puffiness and skin separation).
  • Preservation of date freshness and extended shelf life after harvest.
